NazgulQueen's Corner of Mordor

Shots Fired

Starring: Salma Hayek, Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Matthew Fox, Lisa Loeb, Angelina Jolie (at age 16), Scary Spice, Rockstars and Hooters Girls.

Truth is Vince and I were pretty stoked to go on a boat trip with Katrina, Felipe and Isabelle over the weekend. But on Friday, while skies were still clear, we got a NO GO from the Coast Guard.

This only meant I could stay until Wawi's event at Teatrino: Nokia Rock Playlist ended. Monique and I headed over together for this one. There were so many great things about the event:

1. The venue was done up to look and feel gothic.
2. The aircon was working absolutely fine.
3. The bands had great performances: Pedicab, Urbandub, The Dawn, Razorback (which killed it totally, we were on our feet the whole time) and Pepe Smith. Not to mention the backdrop lights and graphics show was pretty neat.
4. Saw lots of familiar faces in the audience.
5. UNLIMITED vodka, beer, iced tea and soda. Wawi, Monique and Lara all took advantage of the "Unlimited" and well, I just enjoyed watching them loosen up, unwind and get just a bit more crazy and lot more lovable (if that was still possible)
6. I was with girlfriends!
7. We met Matthew Fox (well his name is Jorge and he is from Barcelona and Wawi has his number which she now owes and me and Monique because we said we would "pirate" him.) And what's more, Foxy looks you in the eye when you toast. You know what that means.

The show wrapped up after Pepe Smith's set. Wawi had to go on the phone to attend to her next stop for the night (note the precious photo of her with her head in the blue shopping bag), Lara was up and about and ready to continue grooving and dancing at M Cafe (hardcore ka day!), not wanting to be outdone, Vannie and Russell invited Monique and I to do dancing too. So game kame.

After dancing, Monique and I drove off the Big Sky Mind where we found Hank hanging out after hours, post Dredd. Went over to Japoks where I got treated to a meal by a guy I just met and also got treated to a really loud and ESCALATING LQ (lovers quarrel) at the next table (walang music, walang A/C yung Japoks so dinig na dinig kung ano yung topic ng away) man, some things just make you happy to be single ha ha ha!

I blocked off the entire Saturday for Vince, we drove around, bought books, read the books, ate marshmallows and played Mad Libs. After my T-rex went to sleep, we decided to go MoA for whatever was left of Fete dela Musique, hung out a bit with Mondo and Jeng of the Pin ups and Sarah of Taken by Cars, walked around, got lost, we found a Hooters Bar, I could pretty much keep up with the Hooters girls while they were dancing. The mudslide was yummy and the wings were delicious. Our bartender, Erica was pretty chatty too.

The wind got stronger though and I had to chase Hank's hat which blew off and Patton had to chase the Hooters balloons which the wind blew away as well.

Next stop...Big Sky Mind. The last photo was taken about 30 minutes before the lights died and everything turned BLACK. Did the people leave? No, just huddled by the bar, listening to the sounds from someone's cellphone.

The sunrise was gray and rattled the windows.

Sunday sobered me up--hearing the news about the ferry and ultimately being grateful for the roof over my head and the canned goods on the shelf. And of course Vince spent another day of bonding, game playing and my personal favorite: LAMUTAK!!! Days like these make me want to hug him just a bit tighter.

P.S. Hank bought me a black Hooters shirt.

i am SO PISSED I missed this. We were supposed to go, but confusion stepped in and we thought the event was in greenbelt and couldnt get in touch with Wawi.

You know two years ago, I was supposed to see a Tim Tayag stand up act and we also ended up in GREENBELT looking for Teatrino which was in the Greenhills Promenade.

Which is why I commented on the invite in Facebook. I'd think it's a common mistake especially for people who frequent Makati. I hope there's a time to make bawi for this--tomorrow at Romina's perhaps? How is your hunting for Butterscotch Vodka should I score some for you? I found some in an unexpected place in the projects of QC.

(uyyy, marunong na kung ano dapat gawin with butterscotch vodka...)

I wanted the white tank top the girls were using since Hank was saying something like my cousin's dream is to be a Hooters Girl, etc. etc.

So the black one is really a small t-shirt and they were just telling him to alter it to a tank top.

Alas, 'tis you and ROMINA who should parade in Hooters shirts. While I'm definitely a BOOTER.

HOOTERS. BOOTERS. PATOOTERS. As Darth Vader would say, "The circle is complete."

you found butterscotch? YUM. yes yes, I'll pay you back.
I'll try to get more tomorrow if I have time when I run off and do errands. And some chocolate. Lets see if I can find my chili sarotti, but if not, more kitkats? or what chocolate shall I look for?

Yeah, I heard greenbelt from Wawi and zoned out during the teatrino part. Haha. Selective hearing.

Thank you. A bunch of us thought "Matthew Fox" was pretty adorable. But we found out he was leaving for Barcelona the next day (but he should be back on these shores by now). So in my search for upping the cuteness factor after our encounter with Lost Jack, I actually very belatedly got in touch with Ian and Mark if they wanted to go out...but they were already "booked" with previous engagements.

Iba na talaga ang mga "pogi." Minsan hindi lang booked, double booked pa.

I like the word "our."

By the way, one of the photos Wawi shot of you will be featured at the Ateneo exhibit next Thursday. I think we should tell her to invite Jorge.

In the interest of um, pursuing, um, diplomatic interests between Tortuga, Spain and the Philippines?

Can you hit me on the head now?
