NazgulQueen's Corner of Mordor

Just when you thought Hawaii was the LAST stop.

Fangirl and fanboy alert:  I just found out from a very reliable source that THE POLICE will be touring again / more / further this year!

A rumor went around that the Police were open to playing here but after much hemming and hawing among the telcos, they ended up going for Justin Timberlake.  Apparently JT got too tired from Bringing Sexy Back and had to cancel.  Perhaps they should make ligaw again.

ZOMG The Police at Red Rocks!

Ha ha ha. Time to break the piggy bank.

Did you ever see the video of U2 live at Red Rocks? Panalo!

Sa sobrang pagkafangirl ko, nagkacontact na ako sa Colorado--kunwari pag nakarating ako doon, sa kanila ako makikitira tapos sabay ako sa kanila pag nanood.

Hayyyy... get those big telcos back to the negotiating table so they can play here.

So, what's the scuttlebutt on U2 coming here?

The Inquirer came out with a story last week saying there were indeed negotiations going on with a producer over here to bring them over in October. Nothing final yet. So lets all keep our fingers crossed.

Karlo, AYUZ yung quote mo. There was a time in my life I could have used it on a shirt! Ha ha ha!

Yes, it's true, negotiations are happening for U2 to come and play here. And if so, it should happen some time Q3 or Q4 this year. That time is a ways off from now and anything could happen so keep all appendages crossed until then.

Just in case, there are rumors that Madonna will be coming as well and that it's more firmed up than U2, with tickets ranging from 5 - 50K. There's your yardstick. So if you want to see both, better fatten up those piggy banks because it looks to me like it'll be concert spending spree come year end!
dizzychick76 wrote on Feb 19
ow. though i can pass on madonna. i know a handful of songs and I'm more a fan of her persona than her music.
didipusrex wrote on Feb 19
putang ina 5k to 50k tix??? 5k for the bad seats??? shit!
nazgulqueen wrote on Feb 19
Pass din ako kay Mads.

But I'm sure a lot of people will go. There are not of people here who like the "show" the back up dancers, lights, smoke effects etc.

I'm more partial to the rock and roll.

Let's not forget coming up are:

Maroon 5, Incubus and Harry Connick.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers kaya?

Though wouldn't U2 be cheaper? Kase wala naman silang COSTUMES na pabago bago, light effects, smoke effects, special effects, revolving stage, back up dancers na sangkaterba at kung ano ano pa?

I watched Michael Jackson (and walked two kilometers from my car!) even though I was far from a fan. I just needed to experience the show. If Madonna comes I will be there. If U2 comes, I will be there even more. If Daft Punk comes, I will be there a little less but be there nonetheless.

It depends. The Zooropa and Pop Tours were bonggacious evarr events. They suspended Trabants over the stage for crying out loud.

At mahal ang shades ni Bono.

The Grammys performance didn't do them justice. I NEED to get Daft Punk Alive 2007 DVD.

Not so much for her music but for the show itself. And for this, I'd rather get better seats in order to better appreciate the theatrics. As opposed to U2 where it's really about the music and not the show, so no need to see them up close. All you need is a really good sound system.

Is what I heard...parang 5k, 20k, 30k, 50k. Don't know if there's anything between the 5 and 20k. OUCH.

I'll pass on Incubus and Maroon 5 too hehehe. But man, I'm soooo excited to see Harry Connick!!! THANK YOUUUUU!!!! :D Oh and DD may come too, whoohoo! I'm such a loser, I missed them when they came in '88 :(

I'm really sorry to sound like a poptart, but I regret not seeing that one. Have to admit, he churned out pretty good stuff, and again, I missed a really good show. Uy, at least inameeeen! :D

Yes, probably and definitely not more expensive. But you can more or less gauge from there....

Dami yan! And I'm sure a lot of others will do what you did with MJ. Watch for the show aspect though they may not be real fans.

Oh and DD = Duran Duran

Trulily. The last time they were in Asia was in Japan. They played to an audience of 75K. Where oh where would we make them play here just to fit that huge a crowd, let alone all their equipment and stage ek...?

Don't know, I missed it. But hey, that was a LOT of money back then...96/97 was it...?

I would've liked to see MJ too, but couldn't afford seats close enough -- I don't want to watch a concert if it's going to be too far away. Belle, I really wanted to see DD when they were here before, but I was a student and couldn't afford it either. I'd see them if I came again! And, yes, if the tix aren't completely beyond reach, Madonna, too. For the show. But I don't think I'd pay P20,000 for it. So, maybe I won't, after all. Basta, U2!!!!!
isabetlog wrote on Feb 19
I'd probably pay 10 max for Madonna, even more for U2. At the end of the day, it's still about the music. Let's just hope it doesn't fall through.....
dizzychick76 wrote on Feb 19
Well , yeah, the show Madonna would put up would be kick ass in terms of prod value, definitely, but I think I'd lose my mind with half the music. I like her old videos (i thought frozen was fantastic!) but I would watch it with the sound off. Hahahaha.

Though Phil Collin's Far Side of the World Tour was amazing prod value wise. There were killer lights, effects and stage set. And yes, as Karlo mentioned, big prods yung U2 POP and Zooropa Tours, so it's not just the pop acts that work the performance.

dizzychick76 wrote on Feb 19
I wonder if I still have my mojo to get in backstage. ganun nalang. :P

Duran Duran yes I heard from Lara.

I had a big exam the next day but Tricia worked her charm on me I studied ahead for the exam so I could go with her! I wonder how John Taylor looks now. She had a crush on Simon, me on John. And my gay friend on "Nick Rude."

Not very good. Saw the live telecast of that concert for Diana when I was in London last year and DD played. Tuyot na sya. How sad. How typical.

So si Agu bakla manonood din ng Madonna?
nazgulqueen wrote on Feb 19
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I guess the it's all a matter of accepting it if you get turned down (me, Metallica for example--I just smiled and walked away) and taking lots of photos and tripping out if you do (INXS--thanks to Cowbell and Jade) wouldn't be fangirl if you didn't entertain the thought for the artists / acts you really liked (blush).

Nick Rude. I love!!! :-D Was a JT (John Taylor, not Justin Timberlake!) fan, but sad to say, I think Bon, Simon Le Bon aged the best.

I might have bumped into you at their concert over a decade ago! :-p
